ULTRA was an Allied intelligence project that tapped the very highest level of encrypted communications of the German armed forces, as well as those of the Italian and Japanese armed forces, and thus contributed to the Allied victory in World War II. At Bletchley Park, a British government establishment located north of London, a small group of code breakers developed techniques for decrypting intercepted messages that had been coded by German operators using electrical cipher machines, the most important of which were the Enigma and, later in the war, the sophisticated Tunny machine. The flood of high-grade military intelligence produced by Bletchley Park was code-named Ultra. According to some experts, Ultra may have hastened Germany’s defeat by as much as two years.

Every day the German military transmitted thousands of coded messages, ranging from orders signed by Adolf Hitler and detailed situation reports prepared by generals at the front line down through weather reports and supply ship inventories. In the book "Code Breakers" which is written about the Bletchley Park operations.Where the code breakers were stationed. There is a mention of a Group Captain Humphreys, who spoke fluent German and Spanish.

Google,F.H Hinsley. Who was at Bletchley and was interviewed by a Group Captain Humphreys. Follow the prompts. Other than that, should this chap be your relation, you will need to contact the MOD minister of defence, for his records. However you will need to get permission from his next of kin.
Good luck.. EX: RN.

I am doing some research which has led me to Group-Captain Humphreys, and I would welcome contact with a view to finding out more about him and in particular the job that he did for SHAEF/ Fighter Command in early 1944.

Best wishes.
