Forty-one prophetical years.

Work by S. Y. Kharchenko.

Let us turn to the prophecy, which is expressed in the form of instruction of the ceremonial law, in (Lev. 12:1-4). I think, you know this place of Scripture well, but somehow no one bothered to check, that the seven days plus one day and plus thirty-three days (7 + 1 + 33) this is not forty days, as someone said or you somewhere read about it. You trust the person, but not the word of God. You, by analogy with verse (Lev.12:5), where it is really a round number eighty, decided not thinking, not studying, not penetrating into the text of the word of God, that here is also a round number forty here. “What is the difference?” you say: “All the same, all these numbers are given to us symbolically, they are approximate and rounded”. I’ll prove to you how accurate are numbers of the biblical prophecies, if you study and explore the word of God with faith; and if there is no faith, then, of course, all the numbers are symbolic and approximate. To see in the books of the Old Testament types of future events it even means to believe “all things which are written in the law and in the prophets” (Acts.24:14).

In this type (Lev.12:1-4) the child and the woman, as it should be, are inseparable from each other, in spite of the fact that someone is diligently trying to separate them. The eighth day (Lev. 12:3), where it said about the child belongs and to the woman. This is the eighth day of the account and for woman as well.

In the gospel of Luke (Luke 2:22) it is said: “And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord”. That is, every day of “a man child” is also a day of “a woman”, and every day of “a women” is also the day of “a man child”. The days of her purification are general and for the woman and for the child. After in the eighth day, when “the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised” it is said: “And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days”. The word “and” means the operation of addition. So, we add together eight days and thirty-three days. As a result, we get forty-one days.

Now we will decide who are the “a man child” and “a woman”. In the book of “Revelation”, also in Chapter 12, as and in the book “Leviticus”, it is said about “a woman” and “a man child”. Prophetically this man child is “the Messiah the Prince”, who will rule “all nations with a rod of iron” (Rev.12:5). We read (Ps. 2:8-9), the context of the second Psalm is the very eve of the second coming of Christ in His glory: “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel”. Do not forget, that the ceremonial Law of Moses points to Christ and witnesses of Him. A “man child” (Rev.12), (Lev.12) is Jesus Christ prophetically. In the period of the Old Testament God’s wife was Israel: “For thy Maker is thine husband” (Is.54:5). A “woman” (Rev.12) is Israel, and in (Lev.12) it is said “a woman” as well. The book “Leviticus” is one of the five books of the Law of Moses. A “woman” and “a man child” in (Lev.12:2), and “a woman” and “a man child” in (Rev.12:5), these are types of Israel and Jesus Christ. And note that the numbers considered chapters of these two books, “Leviticus” and “Revelation” are the same -- 12. This is the number of Israel in the Bible.

On defining the eighth day of the account in relation only to the baby, you, thus, took one count of days for “a woman”, and the other the count of days for “a man child”, that is “a man child” is as if by itself, and “a woman” is as if by itself; and thus you separated Christ from Israel. It is with the birth of this “man child” was started our chronology. Prophetically here forty-one days means forty-one prophetic year, “each day for a year” (Num.14:34). The prophetic year is composed of three hundred and sixty days; it is with such years God calculates the times and seasons in the Scripture. But, as you can see, this prophetic time is not showed directly, like other prophetic times and seasons, about which we’ll talk. Prophetic time, it is not obvious for the “unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith” (2Thess.3:2). It is up to the water of the Flood year contained of three hundred and sixty days, and one month, respectively, the thirty days (Gen. 7:11-24, 8:3-4). This is a harmonious, “correct” the correlation between the year and months of the year, and only during of the Flood, as a result of global changes in the movements of planets, as the wages of sin, this harmony was broken.

In (Lev.12:4) prophetically it is said, that there should be fulfilled all these years to make an atonement for Israel, “until the days of her purifying be fulfilled”. Moreover, I would draw your attention once again, this years, prophetically, are considered at the same time and to Israel, and to Jesus Christ. As a child cannot be separated from his mother so and Jesus Christ cannot be separated from Israel. This means that when at the end of these years, He will receive from God the Father the Kingdom, then since that time Israel will “be clean”. In other words, in the day when Jesus Christ will be glorified then Israel will be able to be born spiritually.

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee” (Is.49:15).

If it happens the most incredible Israel will forgot about Him. Jesus Christ say to Israel prophetically, “yet will I not forget thee”.

Consider (Dan.9:24-27); this place of Scripture is directly related to our topic, because all our further discussions will be based on the seventy weeks of Daniel. “Seventy weeks” are the weeks of the years. We will consider the last week not only in the form of week of years but and in the form of the week of days. So, the “Seventy weeks” contain four hundred and ninety years; bear in mind that it is also a prophetic year. The time gap exists only between the seventieth and the penultimate sixty-ninth weeks of Daniel, but more on that further. Read (Dan.9:24):

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy”.

This verse says that with the end of the last year of the seventieth week of Daniel, o house of Israel turned away from the corruption of their idols. In (Lev.12:1-4) prophetically it is said about the same event, because when “the days of her purifying be fulfilled” (Lev.12:4), “she shall be cleansed” (Lev.12:7). Prophetically this means: “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity”. The period of time in forty-one prophetic year, from considering prophecy of (Lev.12:1-4), is included in the four hundred and ninety years, is an integral part of the seventy weeks of Daniel. So, the last forty-first year it is also and the last four hundred and ninetieth year. The end of this year means the completion of the last year of the seventieth week of Daniel. The Scripture says about the last days, before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve” (Jer.50:20).

What must be done after the completion of the seventy weeks of Daniel, which are determined upon people of Israel (Dan.9:24)? The Scripture says, “Seventy weeks are determined”:

“to finish the transgression”;

“to make an end of sins”;

“to make reconciliation for iniquity”;

“to bring in everlasting righteousness”;

“to seal up the vision and prophecy”;

“to anoint the most Holy”;

Here, prophetically, it is said about that time, when there will be completed the forty-first year of “her infirmity”! In those days:

“the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none”;

“the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found”;

I respect the work of Clarence Larkin, but he was absolutely wrong, when identified “the most Holy” in his “Book of Daniel” as the new Millennium temple, which will be built in the future. The “most Holy” is the “King of saints” (Rev.15:3), the “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Rev. 19:16); it is the Lord Jesus Christ. Event of that day corresponds to the verses in the book of “Revelation”:

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev 11:15),

“...thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned” (Rev 11:17).

You have to distinguish the enthronement of Christ and His anointing to the Kingdom and His second coming “in his glory”. It is not one and the same event, these are two different events and between them there is a certain interval of time. The event of the enthronement of Christ, His anointing for the reign points directly and unequivocally one of the feasts of ceremonial Law, as well as another holiday of ceremonial Law points His Second coming “in his glory” directly and unequivocally. You have to make sure we will speak about this event in detail in the second part of this work.

And now, let’s “look in numbers” the same interval of time in forty-one prophetic year; its the “location” in the seventy weeks of Daniel, and its “separation” according to these weeks of years.

Read (Dan.9:25): “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks”. Jesus Christ solemnly entered into Jerusalem, and was accepted as King of Israel (John.12:13), as the Messiah the Prince. Thus, the time interval the sixty-nine weeks is concluded between the two events. It was begun from the moment of time when there was given “the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” and was ended with a solemn entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. This entire time interval is divided prophetically into two periods of time: seven weeks (7 × 7 = 49), and sixty-two weeks (62 × 7 = 434). Sixty-two weeks were started from the date of completion of the Canon of the Old Testament and contains these (62 × 7 = 434) year. There is nothing difficult to understand here. There is no interval of time between the seven weeks and sixty-two weeks or it’s very small of itself; this division has a prophetic meaning, we will consider it later. Now, seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks and one last week form together seventy weeks of Daniel (7 + 62 + 1). For the present moment we will not take into account the first seven weeks, but will count the period of time in the sixty-two weeks.

And now, notice, we imagine these sixty-two weeks and the seventieth week with a prophetic years as follows:

(434 + 7) = (400 + 34 + 7) = (400 + 41).

And now you’ve seen forty-one prophetic years, which began with the birth of “a man child”, in the seventy weeks of Daniel, their “location”, and their “separation” within these weeks of years. As you can see, forty-one prophetic years are divided into two periods of time (34 + 7); one of which is already in the past, this are thirty-four of the prophetic years, and the other is well known to us; it will be still in the future. We know that for Israel remains one last the seventieth (Dan.9:27) week. There is a certain period of time between the two periods of time, thirty-four years and seven years. It began with the solemn entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem (John.12), and it will be ended also with solemn output, but only now is not the Jesus Christ, and that rider with a bow on a white horse (Rev.6:2). Read the sermon by Dr. P. Ruckman “The Mark of the Beast”.

Let’s study these “new” time periods: four hundred prophetic years and thirty-four prophetic years. This is very important, because the conclusions, which we get here, have a direct relation to us and to our time. Four hundred prophetic years, this is the time that has passed, year after year, day to day and hour to hour from the moment of the completion of the Canon of the Old Testament and till the moment of the birth of Jesus Christ; the accuracy is absolute here. From this “formula” (400 + 34), it is evident that the secret coming of Christ, His birth from the virgin (Matt.1:18-23), is characterized by four hundred prophetic years period on the eve. What is typical of this time? These four hundred prophetic years is called “the time of silence”, because in this time God through the mouth of the prophets have not said a single word. The books, which were written at the same time and which “claim” and “pretend” to be the word of God are the false antibiblical ones and they call them the Apocrypha. They do not wont to call them with their name and they say: “the later scriptures of the Old Testament”. It should to call false, that is with themselves name, and all of the holidays, which was “born” at the same time, because they is “pretended” to be included in the ceremonial Law, to be “on a par” with the feasts of the Lord, and even to “replace” them.

So, what does the relation have those four hundred prophetic years that have already been passed to our time? To answer this question it is necessary to see the prophetic connection between His first coming and His second coming. The first secret coming of Christ, His birth of the virgin (Matt.1:18-23), prophetically corresponds to rapture of the Church in Christ Jesus, that is to His second secret coming. The first obvious coming of Christ, His solemn entrance to Jerusalem, together with accompanying His disciples (John. 12), prophetically speaks to us about His second explicit coming, when He “shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him”, and “then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory” (Matt. 25:31). And the first and second comings of Christ, thus, have between themselves that total, what they consist of two stages: the covert and overt.

So, if you can see and understand the Scripture prophetically, where it says about the time before His birth, of His birth and after His birth (Luke 1,2), (Matt. 2), then you will be able to tell about the time that precedes rapture, about rapture of Church and about events after rapture of the Church, which is in Christ Jesus.
Let’s explore and compare the spiritual condition of the people of Judah during two separate periods: at the beginning of four hundred years and at the end of this period. Historically, the eve of the beginning of calculation of the four hundred prophetic years we will consider in the books “Ezra” and “The book of Nehemiah”. This is the time of the scribe Ezra and of the Governor Nehemiah. In “The book of Nehemiah”, in the second chapter, it is said that the king Artaxerxes gave the commandment to restore Jerusalem, about which prophetically is described in “The book of Daniel” (Dan.9:25). That is why historical events described in “The book of Nehemiah” occurring in the first seven weeks of Daniel (Dan.9:25), before the end of writing of Canon of the Old Testament, that is on the eve of the beginning of the four hundred prophetic years.

As we can see from “The book of Nehemiah”, “the children of Israel” observed to do the ceremonial Law, from the book of the Law of Moses (Neh.8), keeping “the feasts of the LORD” (Lev.23:37), because the Law of God was above any human tradition.

“And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up” (Neh.8:5).

“And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses... And that they should publish and proclaim...” (Neh.8:14-15)

Pay attention, the Low of Moses had been respected among Israelites. But already after four hundred prophetic years, human traditions took precedence over the Law of Moses. Israel observed to do tradition of the elders (Matt. 15:2-3) instead of the Law of Moses. If we compare those two periods, for each individual item, characterizing the spiritual condition of the people of Israel then we will receive the following:

On the eve of the four hundred prophetic years:

1. Israel had no books, which would contradict the word of God.
2. People believed Moses. They revered, respected and zealously fulfilled the Law of God.
3. Ezra the scribe taught the people the law of God. He was named “the scribe of the law of the God of heaven” (Ezra.7:21).
4. People were celebrating “the feasts of the LORD” (Lev.23:4). The passover of the LORD was feasted the 14th Nisan (Ezra.6:19), (Num.28:16).
5. People had the fear of the LORD, and were conscious their guilt before the LORD (Neh.9:1-3) and publicly confessed their sins. They relied not on their own righteousness, but on the great mercy of the LORD.
6. The “ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law” (Neh.8:3).
7. They “worshipped the LORD their God” (Neh.9:3).

At the end of the four hundred prophetic years:

1. There were books, which contradict the word of God - the Apocrypha.
2. The people did not believe Moses.

“For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me” (John. 5:46).

“Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?” (John. 7:19).

3. The scribes and Pharisees, instead of teaching the people the law of God, demanded the execution of the traditions of the elders.
“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Mark.7:7);
“the Pharisees, and all the Jews” were holding the tradition of the elders (Mark.7:3).
4. People were celebrating “the Jews’ Passover” - 15 Nisan (Luke.22:1), (John.11:55).
5. Some of the people in vain “trusted in themselves that they were righteous” (Luke 18:9).
6. People became absolutely unable to listen and to understand the word of God.

“Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word” (John. 8:43).

7. “This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me” (Mark.7:6).
“Woe unto you... hypocrites!” (Matt.23).

So, each of the last seven items, which characterize the spiritual condition of the people of Judah during the earthly life of Jesus Christ, we can address in relation to our time. At the end of the four hundred years period, on the eve of the secret coming of Christ, the people of the Jews is a type of the condition of the local churches of our time. Judge for yourself, in our time there are more and more antibiblical material, containing teaching: there is no God; there is no hell; there is no new birth; man is descended from animals; everything in nature has evolved and developed; the Bible is a controversial book; salvation by works; rebirth through water baptism. A “Christian literature” is more a guide to the history, philosophy and tradition of men, than sound biblical teaching. Preachers and teachers do not believe the Scriptures. They did not preach salvation by grace, not preach sound biblical teaching, they preach the doctrines of their churches, which have, in part, the pagan tradition. For example, pay attention to such “Christian” holidays as Christmas and Easter. The purpose of the modern preachers and teachers is not the salvation of sinners, but the increase in the number of the members of their local churches. They say “perverse things, to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:30). Many “Christians” on the basis of the adoption such a distorted teachings in vain sure of themselves, that they are saved. Their belief is false. People in general have become absolutely unable to listen, to understand and to value the word of God, because loved unrighteousness originally.

And now compare our time with the time of the last centuries, when there was really true revival, as it was in Israel in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, and you’d see compliance. You will see that these past four hundred prophetic years on the eve of the secret coming of Christ is a type of “our” time, which began in the seventeenth century. These past four hundred prophetic years, which have passed from the completion of Canon of the Old Testament and till the birth of Jesus, is the type of the current four hundred prophetic years, the count of which began in 1611, since the completion of writing of the King James Bible.

The period of time in thirty-four of the prophetic years, which is part of the seventy weeks, is begun from the day and hour of birth Jesus Christ and had been completed, notice, not His death on the cross, not His resurrection from the dead, but His solemn entrance into Jerusalem as the King of Israel, prophetically, as “the Messiah the Prince” (Dan.9:25). A separate Chapter is devoted to this period of time.

Of course, you have the question: “Why this time interval, which includes such important events as His death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, was not included in the seventy weeks of Daniel?” And you will be only partly wrong. Did you notice, that from one of the first events when He solemnly entered into Jerusalem, all events started to develop, as would rapidly? “Density” of all subsequent events is very high. Maybe they is prophetic and this time interval, in which they take place, do as well? And about this we will say in the next сhapter.

Before we end this Chapter, the basis for which there was prescription of ceremonial law expressed in the four verses of Chapter 12 of the book “Leviticus”, I think you will ask a question: “How one must understand prophetically the following similar order of ceremonial law, contained only in one fifth verse of this Chapter 12?” “But if she bears a female child...” (Lev.12:5). I suggest, for a start, you yourselves will explore this prophecy, so as this prototype we have already considered, and you know what means prophetically this woman and these eighty days of purification. We will consider in detail this prophecy in the second part of this work. The prophecy contained in the fifth verse is not less important, than that which we have already considered. On explaining it you will be able to answer many questions. For example, contrary to the widely held prejudice, that the beginning of the seventy the week of Daniel is unknown. This prophecy together with other types of the Old Testament allows to specify the time interval from the moment of the rapture of the Church which is in Christ Jesus till the beginning of the last seventieth week of Daniel!
