Harley Davidson is making the same mistakes Detroit made in the 1980's. In pursuit of $10.00 they have chosen to ignore time tested engineering. My $21000.00 2007 Ultra Classic has imploded. The crankshaft has shifted, this bike has only 26K miles and has had regular maintenance( oil changes every 2K). My local bike shop, in a town of 35000 has another 2007 Harley with exactly the same issue. I strongly suggest that Harley take the press fit BS that is being used for a bearing in the bottom end and return to the good old fashioned,time tested Timken bearing supported crankshaft that was used for over 60 years. I'm gonna ride my 85 softail, it works.
