A Reciprocating Wood Burning Stove?..It has been done with Steam Turbines, but in a wood stove or Heater would be something new.Normally the exhaust or smoke from the wood stove is vented to the outside through a stove pipe, to re-route these gases back to the tender box and jet them through the coals and burning material would accelerate the combustion process, and make the unit un-efficient.In other words you would burn twice as much wood than was needed to keep the wood stove at a decent temperature. To make a wood burning stove warmer and more efficient , Line the bottom of the unit with Fire Brick on the inside, and keep the stove pipe clean and clear of soot and creosote. And always adjust the Damper to keep the Fire in the Hot box at a Comfortable level. Putting a Large 1/4" thick section of steel plate under the Wood stove will Reflect some of the Heat upward, and prevent loose coals from burning your floor area.
