I know of a man whose name was Martin Luther. He risked death every day and in so doing he inspired generations. He died in the service of humanity. He took the name Martin Luther the so called "heretic". His full name, Martin Luther King Jr. Befor anyone answers I would require that they read or listen to his "I have a dream" speech before they reply. If any one does not take the time or effort to do so, then what is the basis of your arguments?

To verify that you have read Dr King's I have a dream speech please tell me what he said at the end of his speech.

No you are not a heretic. This is just a catchall word for those who think that they have the "truth" whatever that means. All of us have the right to believe what we think about God. All the endeless rhetoric that I have heard makes this idea about "truth" a moot issue.

Some people think if a person has a certain name that they must have something in common with that name as it relates to some attribute of some other person. This is nonsence. It like saying that President Obama's middle name makes him a Muslim. In like manner some people may think that Martin Luther King Jr is a heretic! That's why I asked people to read his I Have a Dream speech and if they did to tell me the last sentence of his speech. Can you verify that speech?

I am not going to suit your requirements for this response becase mlk will love me anyway wether or not you think. but i would like to know what exactly are you arguing about you seemed to of like left the entire question out. i dont feel everyone believs martin luther to be a heretic for this is the defintion, HERETIC: a person who holds a belief that is different from the accepted belief, of his church, school, profession, etc. (most young poets like to regard themselves as heretic in their art. Pelagiuss ideas were officially condemned and he was excommunicated as a heretic: holding such belief as hereitcal which is another word in itself representing heresay. nevertheless MLKs legend lives on and is an example for all.

I don't think the OP means Martin Luther King Jr. but the Monk Martin Luther who led the Reformation against the Catholic Church. If he had not turned into a vicious anti-Semite monster, I would never blame him for being a heretic.
The Catholic Church needed to share its power of life and death. Too much power in the hands of religion is a death sentence to freedom.
