Does anyone have any thoughts on our place in the known universe? Our technology is growing so fast, almost as fast as the population of earth...does anyone else think that mankind is about to take a giant leap into the unknown? Finding life on another planet inside our solar system would no doubt change the way we see ourselves...and our place in the cosmos. How would it affect you personally?

Humans have ALWAYS been "about to take a giant leap into the unknown". It's called "the future.

Population growth is actually slowing a bit. Hopefully enough, but maybe not.

If the universe is infinite then how can we still believe that humankind is the only intelligent life form, the universe must be teeming with intelligent life out there. When we do take that giant leap forward or find a way to discover other intelligence in the universe then the way humans view life and afterlife will change forever.
