Where is the first Latin reference to Zacharia's being a High Priest? Most of the manuscripts of the non-canonical Gospel of James are in Greek used by the Byzantine Church.
How widespread in Catholic Christianity was this usage (13-15th cent.)? Where was the story of Zacharia and the attached Golden Chain or Cord promulgated? Do you know of any extant images of Zacharia as a High Priest, or being attached to a Gold Chain or rope?

The entire New Testament was written in Greek at the start, and large parts of the OT. The Latin translations are very much later, and often inaccurate.
