The reign of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Millennium.

(From work by S.Y. Kharchenko «The Rightly Dividing of the Word of Truth»).

“…You can hear such a statement, that Jesus Christ after the second coming in His glory, “will dwell in Jerusalem” and will reign on this earth for a thousand years. Paraphrasing the words of the disciples (Acts 17:11), you can ask a question “Is it so?” In other words, where will dwell the Lord Jesus Christ in the period of the 1000-years of the peace: in heaven at God’s right hand or on this earth? Jesus told His disciples:

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods” (Matt. 25:14).

The servants, whom He will call on, appearing the second time, are these who wait for Him “unto salvation” (Heb.9:28). That’s Israel. The King “will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons” (Matt. 21:41). That Israel will be called by LORD to teach all Nations in the Millennium: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matt. 28:19) -- Jesus said to His disciples. Children of Israel will be the witnesses of the LORD even “unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8) when the Holy Ghost will come down upon them to show forth His glory. Read further the parable of the talents: “and unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey” (Matt. 25:15).
Read the first Epistle of Peter (1Pet.3:22):

“Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him”, because He “straightway took his journey” (Matt.25:15).

Jesus “was taken up” to Heaven in the 34-th year, but “angels and authorities and powers” was not “made subject unto him”. Jesus Christ soon will be again taken up into Heaven with His Church and “angels and authorities and powers” won’t be “made subject unto him” at this time. And only in the jubilee fiftieth year, when the Lord Jesus Christ will come in His glory, then He will go up to Heaven, and He will be “on the right hand of God” (1Pet.3:22), then “angels and authorities and powers” will be “made subject unto him”.

Moses said to the elders, after Gog made the covenant with the Israel (Ex.24): “Tarry ye here for us”, that is, He “delivered unto them his goods” (Matt. 25:14), “until we come again unto you” (Ex.24:14). “We” – that are Moses and Jesus, and prophetically the LORD and His Church. “And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai” (Ex.24:15-16). “And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel” (Ex.24:17). “Devouring fire” is the glory of the LORD, “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him” (1Pet.3:22).

“But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth?” (2Chr.6:18).

A “great light” (Act.22:6) which lit of Saul on the road to Damascus is prophetically also the glory of the LORD “Who is gone into heaven”. Saul lost his sight “for the glory of that light” (Act.22:11), also “for the glory of that light” the skin of Moses’ face lit so that “Aaron and all the children of Israel” “were afraid to come nigh him” (Ex. 34:29-30). After people have sinned with “a great sin” and a golden calf was erased in the dust, the LORD said to Moses: “I will make all my goodness pass before thee” (Ex.33:19). And “when Moses came down from mount”, “the skin of his face shone” (Ex. 34:29). And all these prototypes indicate one and the same event, which is still in the future.

The LORD will speak with the people of Israel (Heb. 8:8), and “all shall know” Him (Heb. 8:11) in Israel. Israel will be “shone” among the rest of the peoples in the 1,000-year Kingdom, because one day God will speak to them, “face to face” (Gen.32:30). The LORD said to the house of Israel: “I will be sanctified in you before the heathen” (Ezek.20:41). And “the LORD blessed the latter end” of Israel “more than his beginning” (Job.42:12).

Read the second Epistle of Peter (2Pet.1:15-18): “Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.” To understand the prophetic significance of these verses, imagine that you were born and have lived in the 1,000-year Kingdom, already “after His departure” and appealed to the prophetic word—the Bible. So, at first house of Israel shall see His glory, “and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light” (Matt.17:2), and then the LORD will give them His goods. Jesus said to Peter, James, John, after “bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them” (Matt.17:1-2): “Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead” (Matt.17:9). Prophetically this vision refers to the time, when after the enthronement of the Lord Jesus Christ and His second coming in His glory, Israel will come

“unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel” (Heb. 12:22-24).

The LORD says: “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise” (Is.43:21) in the 1,000-year Kingdom. Here is about this manifestation of the glory of the LORD, prophetically, doctrinally, on behalf of Israel is referred in the epistles of Peter, “we”, Israel, “have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty” (2 Pet.1:16). Israel will be witnesses of His majesty, because “ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God” (Is.43:12). Peter on the eve and after his converting is a prototype of the people of Israel (John.21:15-17). Jesus told to Peter: “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22:32). Once Israel will be turned and indeed will strengthen and guide his brethren. The “brethren” prophetically that’s people who will convert from among the Gentiles in the future period of the 1000-years of the piece.

“thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church” (Matt.16:18).

“from henceforth thou shalt catch men” (Luke 5:10).

Here’s another prototype; read with faith. When Abraham was old, he said to his servant:

“thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac” (Gen.24:4).

The servant said unto him:

“Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?” (Gen.24:5).

Prophetically, do you understand about what is a speech? In the sixth verse the Scripture tells us about where will be Jesus Christ after His wedding: in heaven at God’s right hand or on this earth. The Scripture by words of Abraham says:

“Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again” (Gen.24:6).

The scripture says “beware” to all who “returns” of the Son of God, crowned with glory and honor in the Millennium, again on the ground. The cause of all the false allegations is for the unbelief to the word of God.

The king David was saying to Zadok, Nathan and Benaiah about the ceremony of accession of Solomon. And here is unto us prophetically is represented the Trinity in the ceremony of the enthronement of the Lord Jesus Christ: “Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon” (1Kin.1:33). “The servants of the Lord” are listed per (Heb. 12:22-24). “Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne” (1Kin.1:35). The 47-th Psalm says about these events:

“O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted” (Ps.47:1-9).

Note, “a great King”

“shall subdue the people”,

“shall choose” “of Jacob”,

“is gone up”,

“sitteth upon the throne”,

“Honour the king” – it is stated in the first epistle of Peter (1Pet.2:17).

The lifting up from the earth of Jesus is described in the book of the Acts (Acts 1). It is, as it was already stated, the prototype of a future event, which soon will happen. This is the rapture of Jesus Christ and His Church. But here’s the same event His lifting up, as it is described in the books (Luke 24:51), (Mark.16:19), prophetically, doctrinally, according to the context, is the prototype of the beginning of the Millennium.

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God” (Mark.16:19).

As you can see one event has in the Scripture a few doctrinal values! And on the contrary, one and the same prototype of the Scripture can be used to describe similar with respect to Israel, events, but which occur at the different times. This is, for example, the events of the seventieth week of Daniel and the events of the end of the future the 1000-years of the piece. See (Matt.12:41-45).

After Jesus “was risen” from the dead, and then He opened Himself to His disciples, did He remain on earth in Jerusalem? No! He blessed them and was “carried up into heaven” (Luke 24:50-51). This is the prototype of a future time when He really will give them His goods and straightway will take “his journey” (Matt. 25:14-15). He said, read prophetically: “I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world”, this is the first of His coming; and “again, I leave the world, and go to the Father” (John 16:28), and now this event completed His second evident coming, “and ye see me no more”, -- says the LORD.

And here’s the Scripture, as if on behalf of the people of Israel in “those days”, says:

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire” (Heb. 12:28-29).

They will receive “a kingdom which cannot be moved” because He will deliver “unto them his goods” (Matt. 25:14). Israel is as “a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season” (Matt. 24:45). This Kingdom “shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people” (Dan.2:44). The LORD will deliver to His people “over the affairs of the province of Babylon” and in this case, notice, here is the (Dan.2:49) it is said: “but Daniel sat in the gate of the king”. And here is after “a long time” “the lord of those servants” will come and require a reckoning from them. Thus, the parable of the talents figuratively shows us transferring of the Kingdom to the Israel and establishing of a theocracy. This parable shows us the ministry of Israel during of Millennium and, finally, the report “of those servants” at the end of the Millennium. And here is you can not explain which these years, solar or prophetic, because a year will consist of 360 days”.

(From work by S.Y. Kharchenko «Baptizing with the Holy Ghost»).

“And that’s yet one of the prototypes of the Old Testament, which is well explaining this. When the Amalekites fought with Israel, Moses said unto Joshua, “Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand” (Ex.17:9). What means it prophetically, and about what a battle it has been said? This battle will take a place in the Millennium, after the people of Israel will be “filled out of the rock by water”. I think this phrase is quite understandable prophetically. Whom to fight with, because the Millennium came? Satan and his angels will be cast out upon the earth, and Satan then is bound in “the bottomless pit” (Rev.20:3). The beast and the false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire. Who will be left? It is “all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19): “serpents”, “scorpions” to be left. And so they will remain on the earth. There will be given the power and the promotion of the LORD unto every believer in order to tread to them “for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name” (Rom.1:5). The “battle field” in the Millennium will not be in heaven (Rev.12:7-9), but on the earth already. Please note, together with Moses on the top of the hill went up Aaron and Hur:

“when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun” (Ex.17:11-12).

This prototype shows us the future service of His entire host, as in heaven, so and on earth. Aaron and Hur were standing the whole day, supporting the hands of Moses. Here is in the service is showed the “church of the firstborn” (Heb.12:23) as Aaron. A “great multitude” “clothed with white robes” (Rev. 7:9) is as Hur. And Israel together with the believing Gentiles is as Jesus with the selected by Him people. They whole day were in battle. About this particular seventh day, prophetically the Millennium the Scripture says in the first chapters of the book “Genesis”. The Son of God will sit on the throne of the King, because “in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed”. Aaron and Hur are “as the angels of God in heaven” (Matt.22:30). They will represent to the LORD His deals.

“The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure” (Ps.103:19-21).

“His angels” with power and force as captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, will judge “the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto” God (Ex.18:22). Reborn Israel will judge all the small things and, as it was said to Nathanael, “shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man” (John 1:51).

A type, when Moses put of the judges over Israel (Ex.18:13-24), also helps to see the picture of the future time. The Scripture by the words of father-in-law of Moses, as if from the name of God the Father says to the Son:

“Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone” (Ex.18:18).

He is “not able to perform it thyself alone”, therefore the LORD will sit on the King’s throne, and “the rod of God” will be in His hand (Ex.17:9). And whole host of heaven will stand before Him on the ministry, as the executors of His words. And as Aaron had been the mouth of Moses (Ex.4:15-16), so and “his angels” instead of Him will speak to the people.

The Scripture prophetically says to the people, who will live in the Millennium: “for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22). Because the people of Israel, as a faithful and wise servant will have the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt.16:19). And (Ex.17:12) “this temple” (John.2:19) will be built “until the going down of the sun”. And so, Satan and the sons of the curse, that is the Amalek and “his people” (Ex.17:13) will be deposed (Rev.20:9-15). Even the remembrance of them completely will be put out from under heaven (Ex.17:14).

Jesus said to the Jews: “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (John.2:19). On the example of the construction of the building, the Scripture explains to us the stages and growth of “this temple”. First there is lain the corner-stone. It is a period of time of two thousand prophetic years, then the base -- it will take 49 prophetic years, and already in during of Millennium will be constructed whole building, which “fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord” (Eph.2:21). In the Millennium it will have been laid the foundation “of the apostles and prophets”, which will have of the same Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone (Eph.2:20). The Scripture says: “Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun” (Ex.17:12).

From Him “the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love” (Eph. 4:16).
