Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee

The Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee was established to fulfill the requirement of Article 15 of the Aarhus Convention
on review of compliance to establish arrangements for reviewing compliance with the Convention.
(1) a submission about compliance by a Party to the Convention concerning its own compliance or that of another party;
(2) a referral from the secretariat to the Compliance Committee;
(3) a communication from a member of the public concerning a Party's compliance with the convention.

Compliance mechanism
The compliance mechanism may be triggered by any of the following:(1) a submission about compliance by a Party to the Convention concerning its own compliance or that of another party;
(2) a referral from the secretariat to the Compliance Committee;
(3) a communication from a member of the public concerning a Party's compliance with the convention.
