The Sekyere South District, formerly the Afigya-Sekyere District is a district of Ghana in the Ashanti Region
. It is nearly all tropical forest
and contains many types of lumber
wood. There are usually around 120 days of rain per year, but most of these occur during the "rainy season", between March and July. Many of the region's most popular tourist attractions, such as Trobo Waterfall and the Aboye Festival, are in this district.
There are 329 schools and 18 health centers in the district. Two thirds of the workforce are farmer
