Critical reaction
The game was not well received, as the game took away heavily from the original RTS genre, and gave itself to more of an arcade one. Many players of the original Blitzkrieg decided to stay with it because they preferred the realism of Blitzkrieg which Blitzkrieg 2 had thrown away. Another reason was because several models from the original game were just re-cycled and used in the game. The Russian rail artillery is one of these, as it has no real use in-game.
