Elizabethville is made up of farmlands covering the southern and the western parts, the forests are situated in valleys particularly to the south, they are mixed with farmlands to the central part and the Ganaraska Forest lies north of Elizabethville and are filled with hills. At one time in the 19th century the village had a total of 7 streets, which has been scaled down to just 3.

The old Clarke fire tower that stood in the Ganaraska Forest in the 1960s was linked back to forestry headquarters near the village via 2-way radio. Disassembled, the tower now sits at the back of the Ganaraska Forest Centre.
