Freehay is a small village located on the outskirts of Cheadle
in Staffordshire
, England. It is known mainly for its two large gravel and sand quarries. The village is held together by the Main Freehay Bank, properly known as School Lane.
At one time, it was a thriving town with its own school; however, it is now home to rich countrymen and farmers, and the school has been converted into a large house. The village hall is located on the main road and was paid for by Tarmac Quarry. Freehay Village Hall hosts numerous events throughout the year, including classic lorry rallies that have made regional news.
