The German Kolleg is a school serving mature students. Students at a college sit the Abitur
final exam and may proceed into university.
Only people who are older than 19 years may enroll in a Kolleg. As a rule persons need the Mittlere Reife
and a vocational training in order to be allowed to attend a Kolleg. However there are exceptions from that rule, and a person who can prove that they have other qualifications may also be admitted. Other qualifications include having a family and running a household, and having work-experience.
The Kolleg is not to be confused with college.
