The length of the forewings is 20-22 mm for males and 28-30 mm for females. The body is grey. The forewings have crenulated transverse lines. The terminal area is darker, with some pale grey mottling. There is a large irregular darker grey spot at the costa. The hindwings are uniform brownish grey, but darker at the tornus. There is a faint dark submarginal line. Females are larger and brighter.
