¡Salsation! Theatre Company, NFP is a Latino
sketch comedy
troupe based out of Chicago, Illinois. Salsation was founded in 1998 by students at The Second City
, Improv Olympic (now i.O.) and Columbia College Chicago
who wanted a venue to create and perform original Latino-themed material. Originally envisioned as an improv group, ¡Salsation! began focusing on scripted sketch comedy shortly after its inception and has produced such hit revues as Touched by an Anglo (1999), My Big Fat Quinceanera (2003), and The Devil Wears Chanklas (2008). ¡Salsation! became a not-for-profit group in 2003 and devotes part of its time to bringing theater and improv to the Hispanic community through workshops and performances.
Although based out of Chicago, ¡Salsation! tours college campuses and performs in corporate events throughout the U.S.
