Simpack
Encyclopedia
SIMPACK is a general 3D Multi-Body Simulation Software
which is used to aid engineers in the analysis and design of mechanical
and mechatronic systems. SIMPACK is used for non-linear transient analyses in the time domain and linear analyses in the frequency domain.
SIMPACK AG, a spin-off
of the DLR
(the German Aerospace Center), was founded in 1993 and now has representatives and partners all over the world.
SIMPACK AG is solely responsible for the development of SIMPACK, a leading multi-body simulation software
.
Apart from the distribution of SIMPACK, SIMPACK AG also offers consulting and engineering
services as well as SIMPACK training courses.
SIMPACK is primarily used within the automotive, railway, engine
, wind turbine
, power transmission
and aerospace
industries. Within all industries SIMPACK is used for single component design and complete system analyses. Besides taking internal dynamics
and control into account, SIMPACK can also consider any external influences on the system, e.g. ground disturbances and aerodynamic loading.
1993 Dr. Alex Eichberger founds INTEC as DLR spin-off to commercialise and further develop SIMPACK.
1996 Dr. Lutz Mauer, a respected expert in railway engineering, joined the executive board and the company changed its legal status to a limited liability
company, a GmbH.
1999 INTEC GmbH was prized as one of the 30 most successful German research spin-offs
by The Federal President
of Germany.
2001 INTEC GmbH acquires all rights to SIMPACK from DLR
(the German Aerospace Center).
2003 INTEC Dynamics Ltd. founded as UK subsidiary
of INTEC GmbH.
2006 INTEC Japan
K.K. founded as Japan subsidiary of INTEC GmbH.
2007 INTEC France
S.A.S founded as France subsidiary of INTEC GmbH.
2007 INTEC US Inc. founded as US subsidiary of INTEC GmbH.
2009 On 10 September, INTEC GmbH changes its status to a public limited company and is renamed to SIMPACK AG.
