The Ring by Margaret Bingley

The Ring is about a girl called Kate who buys a ring from a jewelry shop that had just opened a month ago. She soon realizes that the ring makes her able to read minds of the people she meets and see the truth about what everyone thinks about her. When she tries to get the ring off, it won't come off, so she uses a knife to cut her finger and dies due to loss of blood and shock to the nervous system. As the story ends, a woman, Grace, and her new husband enter a new jewelry shop where Grace buys a ring. In the twist ending, it is revealed that this was exactly the shop from which Kate bought the ring and the ring which Grace bought was exactly like the one which Kate bought.
