The University of Rome was a university located in Rome, Italy and one of the earliest to be established in Europe.
The University of Rome has been reorganised into three autonomous universities in the 1980's due to the increasing number of students enrolling at Sapienza University of Rome, the only existing public university of Rome at that time.
