I served on her majesties ship hms ledbury for 2years back in 1989-1991.,i was just a young junior seaman who had never been away from home for more than 2weeks. My first impressions were very positive with a good ships crew and a crew with a good sense of humour, but it didnt take long for the bullies n perverts to come out of the cracks. The reason im writing this story is because im ashamed with myself for knowing & letting a young fellow s(mw)whom i will not name for personell reasons as the poor boy back then suffered enough- i really hope this man now is ok as the sexual abuse that happened to him back then was f.ck..g disgracefull.i know fellow seaman are going to read this & think this was acceptable behaviour for young ratings on a new ship,back then i wasnt much of a human being i was a sheep like the rest of the crew i would do anything within reason to be liked but getting your p.n.s tied to a bit of gunline with a divingweight on the end of it & thrown down the main drag is a f..kin horrible way to be treated just because your the most junior seaman onboard, i would love to have a ledbury 1989-91 catchup so i could let all the fuc..s know how i feel about them, theyre the lowest of the low i dont have to mention nasmes they know who they are & i hope its effecting them as much as it is me., in 1991 the s.i.b came onboard ledbury to interview ratings about the person abused, apparently the only people who did not know about the abuseed rating was the XO & the captain.the guily bast...s in question are welcome to come & sort any problems with me in my home town if they feel the need, but remember im not the little cowering scared sheep that i was back in 1991., david hyslop.
