6string
Hi,
I was driving my truck (85 dodge ram 50, 5 speed, 4WD, 2.5 motor) through town the other day when it lost power and started backfiring through the carburetor. Now it is really difficult to start and once started runs really bad, backfires through the carburetor, and has no power to run anywhere.
My first thought was a vacuum hose came off the carburetor or it jumped time but eveything is still attached to the right spot and the timing is still right on. when I was looking through my service manual I thought it could be the Electronic Ignition or Electronic Control Module. Any ideas, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not the best mechanic but can figure my way around a motor.
Thanks,
Thomas
