My dad was then free to find work elsewhere and took a job in AUSTRALIA at LUCAS HEIGHTS NUCLEAR REACTOR at MENAI,SYDNEY,IN 1966,we all migrated as ten pound poms,mum dad and us five kids.Not long after he started at LUCAS HEIGHTS he went blind his eyes simply became white where they used to be blue with no pupil visible,it took only a coupkle of months for this to happen.The Drs were baffled till they found evidence of uranium miners in ukraine with same cataracts from exposure to radiation,later all of us kids developed same cataracts as we also had inadvertently been exposed to the radiation from dads clothes and tools he brought home nightly.The UK gov refused to help us we were on our own,dad became a broken man and never recovered,we had ops and can see again but worry about long term effects from multiple exposure.So this is why I am on here ,trying to shame the UK gov into official apology to my mum and us.Also we want compensation for destroying our lives ,also putting focus on damage to kids living near lab who were never warned of danger even today.
