For all of you Yonseis out there... please respond: What are your experiences with your parents' (or grandparents') views about you dating and/or marrying someone who is not Japanese or Japanese American? I'm currently in a serious relationship with someone who is Vietnamese, not Japanese, and it's as though my grandma has ostracized him because of his race! Granted SHE won't be marrying him one day, I still don't like it that she treats him with prejudice just because he wasn't born Japanese! =( It's come to the point where we don't even want to go visit my grandma because of what she's said to him in the past. Help!!! Any advice on what I should do?
