I have Developed an (Electric) self rotating wing Aircraft.A Very efficiante concept in the 50s.It was a Typical Rotor Blade turned by Jet Tips!My prototype can be seen on Twitter Charles Glazebrook or r/cuniverse.I am working on the cocept of Building it as a Unit.Powered by a Small e.v. It could drive in and power the Wing motors and Fly by Wire controls.This way you could take advantage of all the Features in Todays Auto's.It's an Old idea with a New Twist.The Larger Wing Produces the same amount of Lift with a Much slower rotation speed!It can Safely land if 1 of the 2 wing motors should Fail.Try that with any quad tri or twin anything?I think it will soon be the Prefered type of Rotarywing Concept?It's more efficiante Fuel Wise.Todays Heli's are somewhat (Dyslexsic) and it shows in thier Fuel Consumption.(Sorry Sikorski) It is the Way of the Future (Electric) is in.Jet Tips are Out !
