Why is Islam and the Arab World so fragmented into different cults, sects, religious trends? Suffi, Shi'ia, Bahai, Salafi, Kufí, etc. etc. are some of the ones we hear about! The Arab-Islamic countries are going through a terrible fragmentation along nationalistic-poliical lines. How tenous the retourn to the Caliphate appears to an outsider romantically impressed by the Golden Age of Córdoba and Granada! What would have happened to Islam if the Abbassid-Umhayad rift would have healed in time? What is wrong? The only middle-East factor contributing to Islamic Unity now is the wide-spread hatred of Israel and what it represents! Reminds one of the confusion arizing out of the arrogance that caused the building of the tower of Babel! Is Allah trying to send a message, since if he sends a "messenger" he would be mostly unheeded by the very basic nature of Islam! Is there something wrong with Islam that it cannot seem to be able to change to fit into new social and political conditions such as demanded by the Internet/Wilkeyleaks effects on Islamic societies?

History is a long and difficulte road...but let say
being muslim is to be belive in god no more no less

fragment in islam started when after death of mohammad it was fobbiden to write about him and what he said!!!they begun a kingdom in the name of islam but not in its way.muslem seperaited into 2 part shia & sonni ....
the other sects are made by passing the time by some smart people and even whit help of tho old fox (UK) and some dummy followed them: bahaiat bubiat vahabiat thay are not old but growed whit the help of mony and power....they are not amazing while some people ignore god or pray the satan

If the tradition of the Golden Age of Córdoba and Granada would have continued, I would probably be apologising to you for my poor Arabic, although to this daY sPANISH HAS ABOUT 20% of all roots originating from the Arab Language. I disagree with your statement that the Shia-Sunni conflict occurred after the deaTH OF mUHAMMED! Ancestral strifes between north Arabia and south Arabian tribes continued under the new banners of Shiía and Sunni! History and the love of the truth is the only hope for peace (Salam) for humanity! There is no worse Satan other than our own weakness and lack of assuming the responsibility for our own sins and misdeeds.

as koran is not really devoted to Specified topic i don't know which part u really mean but it think it must be in womens chapter(نساء- nesa).
actually i can't understand what is "love of Mary"?
Marriage is started whit love all around the world.Islam only try to show the right way whit giving directions. forbidding the treason, expressing the the love....
but what is love ? that's non of my business.

st.Mary is 1 of the 5 most important and greatest womens in Islamic Course. all the Muslims believe in her Virtue, Purity and true Faith.
in koran she is even called as an example for all believers. Mary was so adducent that The angels revealed to her.
i thik u have read soore maryam(part devoted to Mary)16 till 36. and soore ale emran 42&43.
