In July of 2002, Avalon lost their founder, Grant Cunningham, when he died from a brain injury suffered during a soccer game. Grant was 37 at the time. He was executive producer for all of Avalon's records up to the time of his passing. He also co-wrote several of the songs Avalon recorded on their early records.
