Without any elaborate introductory exposition:
The award of the Nobel Peace Prize to newly elected United States President Barak Obama was the most dramatic expression of hope for improvement in the moral health of the world that I will ever be witness to in my life. Unfortunately, President Obama has been nightmarish in his embrace of, and adamant defense of, the worst conduct of the previous administration.
In light of recent events, I believe that the Academy should repudiate its award.

When the Swedish Academy awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Barak Obama, they implicitly said that any truly democratic president of the United States would be an infinite improvement over the status quo ante. Also implicit in the award was the judgment that the new President actually had a well founded sense of moral responsibility.
Those opinions were widely held among objective observers of world affairs.
The Academy was wrong and should say so.
