Someone asked me to post something to this forum as a means of educating the uninformed about the Birmingham Roller Pigeon. This is a breed of pigeon developed in Birmingham, England over 200 years ago. The breed found itself in the USA in the late 1890s. Two major competitions are held in the US each year, the World Cup which is a competition with close to 1,200 competitors world wide, and the National Championship Fly which is held in the fall, close to 600 competitors.
