We were watching an episode this morning where Holmes installed a thick, insulated floor in a basement. One layer was a pink foam, then tongue and groove plywood, then the carpet pad and carpet. It raised the floor quite a bit, but made for a warm floor.

Can this be installed in a walk-out basement? If so, how do you handle the lip at the door?
