For several years now I have been studying Caratacus as a real candidate for the legendary figure of 'king arthur'.
The more I research the evidence relating to Caratacus the more he seems to fit the general legend evidence surrounding the mystical arthur.
My studies have recently been reinforced by the research put forward by Steve Blake and Scott LLoyd in their book 'The keys to Avalon' who put strong evidence forward relating to the location of the stronghold of Arthur which closely corresponds with the locations and movement of Caratacus.
However I am forced to disagree entirely with the author's of the above mentioned book and a great many other scholar's who seem to be hooked on the idea that Arthur must have existed during the anglo-saxon period (surely someone as great as king arthur would have got a mention in the comprehensive anglo saxon chronical's.)
