I wonder if Mr. Griffin is really as harsh as the kids put him out to be. . .

I was wondering this too. He teaches the way ALL college professors teach (no late work, nothing is perfect, etc.,). Maybe he isn't so bad afterall. Maybe he is just trying to prepare them for college. Apparently someone is passing--Sue has a B.

How are they going to safely kidnap a grown man and not get caught? I hope they all get caught.

I was wondering the same thing. A lot of the time students don't like teachers if the teacher gives them work or goes a little hard on them. Maybe everyone is just making him seem worse than he really is.

For my annotations, i had a creepy thought about how mark twists the minds around him, sensed deception throughout marks plan to actually kill Mr. Griffin, and i wondered how they could even THINK to compare the kidnapping of dolly luna... lots of differences between now and then-can u help but see them? Also, for those of u in second period, do u think we should do the drama activity or what?

What are the kids thinking? Even if they don't like Mr. Griffin, that's no reason to kidnap him. Kidnapping is a criminal act; which could land them in jail. Bad things happen in jail...

Maybe these kids are just slackers(except for Sue) and want to get back at a teacher that was pushing them to succeed.

I don't understand why they listen to Mark so much, and let him convince them of everything.

Mr. griffin obviously is just being strict. The kids just want to do this i think mostly because they think they won't pass the grade which is very important for them since its high school

I completely agree. I don't understand why all of the students hate Mr. Griffin, considering he is just trying to force them to do the best work that they are capable of doing. This is going to only benefit the students once they reach college, so I wouldn't be hating Mr. Griffin for his teaching methods.

I was kind of confused at first as to why the started with Susan. It totally threw me off when they just jumped to Jeff. So uncool.
