Has china in it's recent development gained more than it lost or was all the progress pointless considering the loss to the people and the econemy.(great leap forward)

In my opinion China is the second in the queue of George Orwell's animal farm. The success and progress is built on the backs of the common people. I see no evidence of the application of Dr. Sun Yet Sen's for the people, of the people, by the people ideal. in time, things will change. This time it will be evolution not revolution.
