I spent 15 months in kirkuk...traveled all the streets saw all the surrounding villages and spoke with many of the locals. About half way through my adventures i went to the site of the citadel and i must say it is absolutely spectacular. The buildings themselves are 3,000+ years old, although they have some renovating done to them its quite impressive to say the least. cant say that it is the real tomb but it definately was not put there for a tourism piece, youll be lucky if you make it there in one piece with all the IED'S and all trust me i saw it.
