Erhard Weigel and his wife Elisabeth Bayer had two daughters. The one died soon after birth. The other is Anna Katharina Weigel. She was born on 27 July 1654 in Jena. She was married to Felix Spitz (1641-1717) on 8 September 1673 in Jena. In 1685, they moved to Altdorf. Felix Spitz became a professor of jurisprudence at Altdorf University. Anna Katharina died in January 1713 in Altdorf.

It appears a direct descendent will only be possible through his daughter Anna Katharina which might be difficult to follow. Is there any additional information about her children and decedents?

Would you know if his Erhard’s parents had other children? According to Wikipedia Erhard Weigel was born to Michael Weigel and Anna Weigel. Would you know the names and information of their sons and daughters and their decedents. If not a source I can contact to find this information?

Erhard Weigel was the only son of his parents. Erhard had two sisters, Anna (1621-1651) and Margarete (1618- ca 1700). There is no reason to expect that Anna or Margarete have descendants. So far, I'm afraid this news isn't a good one for you, but the father of Erhard had 5 brothers. I don't know how far you can trace back your "Weigel" ancestors. Perhaps you are lucky with one of Erhard Weigel's uncles. In the following list I start with the "Weigel" grandfather of Erhard Weigel, i.e. the father of Erhard Weigel's father.
