My uncle Bill, (William Robertson,) visited the area while on vacation and said that is was not the most welcoming experience while in Scotland.

He and I have both been researching our past connections to Scotland and are in hopes of discovering cousins there.

Heritage is making those connections and finding out who your families are and how that may or may not apply to you. It's all genetic in a sense.

Maybe a little bragging rights come into play here as well.
