Actually, it's not Ann Collier, but Christine Mason who encouraged & gave Gina support early on & introduced her & Ann to John Waters & Edith Massey. While it's true that Gina & Ann were an "item for a brief time & managed to remain friends after they're "parting"; Gina only played for Rhumboogie when their drummer wanted to com fom behind her drums to the front of the stage to sing. It was Christine Mason who managed Scratch & Sniff...a band that Gina played with prior to leaving for LA & playing w/ Edie. It was Christine who supported & encouraged Gina to go out to LA & it was Christine who would give sisterly advice to Gina during her good & not so good times as a Go Go. It was Gina who when Christine developed a fatal form of cancer, never called Christine, never phoned....not even a card....nothing. Yet when Divine died Gina was "all over it" in the papers, magazines...etc... Guess Chritine wasn't famous enough to be Gina's friend any longer...
