riverliver
I am planning an expedition of the Alabama Scenic River Trail and I plan on using a purpose built craft for this trip. Several of my friends have called me loony, stupid, down-right crazy and one of my closest friends even questioned my sanity.....to them I say...."Read all about it when I complete it with a huge success!" ....morons....they're just jealous.
Anyway, I'm building a one man jon boat camper cruiser that runs totally off of solar power. And I want to complete the "Trail" using nothing but green technology and "off the shelf" systems that are easily obtainable and easily operated. The boat itself is from no particular set of plans, but rather a combination of several boats that I have researched and incorporated different useable aspects into one finalized working plan. This craft is just big enough for one person, but will contain all the creature comforts required to allow me to eat and sleep onboard. No campsite needed, just drop anchor or tie off and close my self up in the cabin where I can cook, use the porta-potti, and off course fall of to sleep.
I would like to hear from anyone who has been on this trip and give me advice or fair warning or just converse about the river trail.....thanks
