In my opinion, Henry Ainsworth was arguably the best Hebrew and Christian Bible commentator of the past several centuries. I have read his 1639 Annotations on Torah, Psalms, and Canticles. He was the official teacher of the English Separatists who sailed to America on the Mayflower. It may well be that the Christian church covered up, as it were, his writings; however, during this period in the Biblical prophetic timeline, Ainsworth is coming to the fore.

I am looking forward to ordering and reading Henry's 1639 Annotations
I found out about him in the library today reading about the history of Blackburn, it said that he was born in Pleasington but this seems to be refuted by reports on the Internet - I will look into it
I am writing a book about my time in Israel in 1991 when I was randomly put on a Kibbutz in Galilee
it is entitled 'Dance like a Kibbutznik' and I am to add the subtitle 'Proof of Messiah Apparent'
it is good to hear that he taught the Separatists of the Mayflower as this may tell us what has become wrong with America in this day and age
I will be doing a Degree in Politics and History and this is something to research in terms of Local History

My wife and I spent 22 days in Israel during March 2006, and had a wonderful time. The first seven nights were spent at Hebrew U-Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, at the Beit Maiersdorf (Faculty Club). Then we drove our rental car to the Dead Sea en route to Eilat, to Rehovot for a few nights at Hebrew U there, to the Mediterranean Sea at North Ashkelon, to Rosh Pina for a few nights, to Tel Hai Academic College, to Tiberias, back to Rehovot, and then to Ben Gurion Airport for the flight home.
It took me 14 months to read Ainsworth's complete Annotations, and there were many Scriptures he provided throughout the book that I did not check.
There is a free PDF download of the 1843 edition of his Annotations available from the Puritan Board, and eBay has a CD for $10 from the Reformed Puritan Church.
May YHWH give you favor and wisdom with your writing and research. My PhD is from the U of Pittsburgh, and I am retired from the practice of psychology.
