If you live in Hamden, CT, you may be quite familiar with Downs (downes) road. It used to connect Hamden to Bethany. For some reason a good section has been closed off. Now it is named one of the 5 most haunted streets in CT. I tried googling the history of the road and I just came up with the hauntings. Is there anyone who can actually tell me why this road was shut down and when? I'm very curious and always interested in local history. Thanks a bunch!
