I was a Elevator Inspector for the State of WI for 20+ years so I am familiar with inspections. My question is: If the home inspectors are as bad as indicated why don't they have the inspector come back and show him what he missed and why did he miss it? In WI home inspectors have to go through a class and pass a State exam in order to be certified. What happens in the other states in the US? I know that Canada has similar codes to the US. Also the homeowner should get their money refunded for an inadequate inspection. Many inspectors really do not keep up with the codes and how they are to be enforced, many times they use codes that do not apply.
