Conversion to Islam is so easy and every muslim is empowered to invite any human being in islam if he is willing to do so because no forced conversion is allowed in Islam.Gate of islam to recite Kalmai Tayyaba by the depth of heart after proper understanding of its meanings and implications. Now Quran is available in many languages specially in english is easily available. If you recited Kalma LA ILAHA ILLALLAHO MUHAMMAD UR RASUL ALLAH and accepted its object you are muslim then life is required to be adopted as per principles of Quran. for further do not hesitate to ask on siradvocate@ymail.com.

Peace! Please do not become any sectarian Muslim. Accept Islam as a PURE RELIGION.
Islam forbids making SECTS.

To begin with, you don't "convert" to Islam, per se, but you "embrace" Islam by submitting to Allah and His Messengers. The gateway to doing so, if you will, is to first profess that there is no other God (or god) but Allah. This is a monotheistic faith and walk of life. The next step on that path is to accept His Messengers, namely Muhammad. I believe from personal experience and from reading the Qur'an that the traditional bearing of witness in Arabic is the best way to say it. You'll read it over and over again in the many responses that will come and as you go to various Islamic websites.
Once you have done that, you just submit your life to Allah by obeying his will as found in the Qur'an, by necessarily studying the Qur'an, studying the faith, and being a person who lives and seeks to preserve peace.
One thing to remember is the difference between Deen and Millata. Deen means Standard. Millata means religion. They are not the same as many Muslims seem to think. You become a Muslim by embracing the Standards of Allah's Religion, which you don't join like you would a Christian or Jewish or other religion. In fact, there is no "joining" Islam, only "embracing" Islam in practice and witness. There is no clergy to go to in Islam to validate your conversion because your relationship with Allah is between you and Allah alone. HOWEVER, that does not preclude the importance of your external walk of faith.
There is no other true religion of Allah because Allah is One and has only One Religion, and there is no sectarianism is Islam either. For that reason, the Qur'an is very clear about joining "Sects of Islam" because in truth there is no such thing. What we call "Sects of Islam" are nothing but cults that are opposed by Allah in the Qur'an. HOWEVER, there nothing wrong with studying or leaning toward one "school of thought" versus another, so long as you are faithful to Allah and are not tricked into believing that you have to be either a Sunnah or Shia or other type of Muslim.
Welcome to the faith!

Hi NKingston! You wrote about Deen and Millata.
Deen which is also regarded as 'the way of life' is a different aspect than the Millata also described as "Community of Muslims'.....
This Millata is apparantly has a major BI/DI-CHOTOMY into Sunni-ism and Shai-ism...then there are many groups and sub-groups , divisions and sub-divisions....
The point of view , I have about the Millata...is...
that the first sect..started soon after the demise of Prophet of Islam was Shia (a -small -group) which became a very large section...through multiplication...then an organized cult...with a cluster of fringed beliefs and make-beliefs...do you agree or not....?
If you do ...please do not mention it at all...it's a different religion-based-on-Islam!
Similarly..let's talk about the Sunnis...they weren't even a sect..they were only Muslims- the 'body' when a 'part'got seperated from them...
but today...
..after so many centuries..Sunnism has become a prominant sect itself..it is influenced by many alien-beliefs and practices...has many groups and sub-groups due to mis-interpretations of Quran and having 'booked' a bunch of 'Hadith' in support...
This is very interesting when they oppose a common person/leader etc..they unite together to issue a Fatwah!haha!
I don't need to mention sub-groups or related groups...because to me they are all un-accountable...!
Now what to do to walk in the Muslim society????????????

Deen which is...
As-salaamu alay-kum, Silent:
You are well within reason for your request to not mention my thoughts about religions-based-on-Islam such as the Shi'a sects, so as regards Sunnis, you are correct; they initially were just a school of thought, but as the school of thought filtered into politics, it developed into a vast growing sect of Islam, but as many Islamic cults, it is backwards. Ahadiyth in most of these cults are support by the Qur'an when the Qur'an should be supported by ahadiyth.
Meanwhile, you present a very important question that all Muslims of today NEED to consider, "Now what to do to walk in the Muslim society????????????" Muslims need to work closer together and rely only upon one hadith, and that hadith is called the Qur'an. Whatever we find in any other hadith is kewl so long as it does not conflict with the Qur'an, that which was sent down directly from Allah, the Most High. Muslims have all that they need in the Qur'an to survive as an ummah (neutral community/nation) whether a local ummah, a national ummah, a global ummah, or an ummah in its own right.
Muslims are called upon to greet each other, which includes strangers, with peace. When someone walks into a Muslim ummah no one should be a stranger, and everyone should be given the benefit of a doubt. Actually, the Christian Scriptures teach something very profound that they do not practice; at least here in America they don't. It's called the Golden Rule. Muslims are called to be that example, that beacon of light for people to follow, they are by definition of the word Muslim or the root √slm people of peace, trust, security, submission to Allah, and so on. If that trust among Muslims does not exist, then the non-Muslim will surely feel it. That is haram. When you enter a Muslim ummah, simply greet everyone either with "As-salaamu alay-kum" or "Peace, brother" or "Peace, sister," but don't stick your two fingers up representing the crow's feet. Not necessary. Those were from my hippy days.
If you are not a Muslim, don't preach to us. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask if you really want an answer. If you disagree, that's fine. Just express your differences based on the Qur'an, or base your question on the source that brings it up. No one should EVER feel uncomfortable among Muslims. No one should EVER feel threatened when among Muslims. EVERYONE should know that their Muslims are there for them. If any of these "should"s are missing from an ummah, whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian, or other, then soemthing needs to be corrected.
As for yourself, as an individual, you should be an ambassador of peace and a guardian of the Standards of Allah, and eager to make others feel welcome in your presences.
