By colonizing new planets, The elite have the technology but are keeping it from us. Richard Hoagland (a former NASA employee) wrote a book called Dark mission and has a website called Enterprise institute. The reason they dont want us to leave is power, they would no longer control us.

Surely colonising new planets which are suitable for Earthlife would only allow for a backup population of (continually evolving) humans against the event of catastrophe down on Earth. The worsening population problem on Earth would certainly remain. Any plan for evacuating Earth for a new planetary home with the explicit purpose of easing the population crunch on Earth would seem to be unworkable.
I would think human life on Earth will be annihilated for one reason or another long before the failure of Earth's sun. Evolving conventional technology, from the present viewpoint, will be incapable of providing a means of planting a human breeding colony on some safe planet.

Educating women

in countries where women are more educated as a whole the birth rate is decreased. These countries also tend to be wealthier and less dominated by restrictive religious doctrine.

lets face it, sex is fun. For the poor and under educated it is sometimes the only fun they can afford so they make use of it. In these conditions women are baby factories and many of these children are born into situations where they have no support. They die or grow up feral.

in the religions that require men to dominate women for what ever reason, there tend to be large families. Wives in these conditions can't roll over and say they have a headache, they can't watch their menstrual cycles and tell their husbands 'not for ten more days honey'. (generally, I'm certain there are fair and equitable marriages in ALL religions just as there are kind, considerate men in ALL levels of society)

many strict religions forbid contraception. it gives females a lot of power and a lot of free time because they aren't saddled umpteen children. when women have free time they usually start thinking about how to get more out of the men in their lives. men hate this. (I believe that's universal)

conversely we could all pray for an influenza pandemic or major nuclear war. that would certainly cull the herd. I've actually talked to people who think these things are options far more viable than educating women

the horror

chicks with IQ, birth control AND voting rights
its the end of the world

thanks

Nature has many ways of reducing population - where the environment is impoverished and degraded, people are aggressive and civil wars break out, resulting in many deaths. When food runs out and water is so polluted, people will die in massive numbers. Once the balance is restored - there will be a recovery.

In an aquarium, fish stop breeding once the population becomes too dense, by whatever means. I suspect the increasing incidence of infertility among humans is possibly a similar means by which Nature's is trying to re-establish a balance.

When things get totally out of hand, I am sure there will be a major upheaval of the planet's land-masses - with vast areas of degraded and over-populated landscapes - sent for re-cycling beneath the oceans (rather like Atlantis and the Great Flood in Biblical times). And other land-masses will rise above the ocean - setting a challenge as to how quickly the surviving people can destroy that in the way we have damaged our existing land areas.

Mankind is so selfish, he will never resolve the problem himself - we see so many people having large families when common-sense should be telling them, enough is enough.

Hahahah.. I like the answers by new planets. Please guys.

Over population could be solved by creating new cities. Over population is a good way where people and resources are available within your country. it keeps the cost of the resources down.

Over population can only be solved on earth. There are enough resources in this place that it could serve everyone.

This is a reason from one city you see many cities over a period of time. You just need to expand. This is how you expand. When you have no population a big country is off no use.

hope it answers your question.

Do you believe that by reviving the holy knowledge from Holy GOD? will help controlling the numbers of people on our planet.the law of existence of men were based on the path of holiness.those who keep on sinning against GOD will be removed by the acts of GOD.?One form of sinning is not believing HIM!It is the right time to believe in one Holy GOD through Jesus Christ his begotten son.

One world country. One language (in order to communicate). One government. One bank. One food supplier. As for religion or beliefs, just leave as is for there are too many and not everyone believes in the same thing. Migrate everyone on the lands above the equator, primarily around the coastlines, and leave the bottom lands under the equator for production of food, trees and fuel. don't separate people by country, separate people by their beliefs, eg christian country, islam country, buddist country, new age country, etc. Stop wealthy people from buying up land all over the world; leave some land for production and residence. Start producing shellfish farms, mollusc farms, leather skin farms (shark, swordfish etc) and soft flesh farms (squid, octopus, jellyfish, etc), leave marine animals to clean our ocean floors and stop our water from rising even further. Start building from out of the water, give people options to live on boats, in submarine, on ships and ocean liners. Last, but not least, start building up and keep producing large buildings to accommodate everyone. As for the deceased, start burying people standing up and people would have to bury their pets in their back yard.

There is no such thing , use your head and calculate the usable surface of the planet. governments do not let us grow what we need to sustain our populations deliberately, in collusion with business. Then create this myth of overpopulation in order to make us fear and hate those that are having more than 2,5 kids.

T has always been interesting to me that no government or NGO, including Friends of the Earth, is willing to take the bull by the horns and deal with the global threat of overpopulation. It seems to be a taboo subject. Why is that?

27 years ago, I was so horrified when the Earth's population hit five billion that I started writing a book as a vehicle for presenting my own ideas on population control. By the time I had finished writing the book and published it (last month), the population was SEVEN BILLION.

There seem to be far too few voices willing to confront the issue of too many people in the world. There's a lot of noise about feeding all the billions to come, but not in reducing birth rates. That in my mind is insane.

I put forward a pretty radical solution in my book (The O.D. by Chris James), in which the human population is reduced by 90% over a 250 year time span. The good news is that nobody gets killed.
