I am trying to trace the records of Daniel Astwood belived born in East Retford, Nottinghamshire. He was a corporal in the Royal Artillary in 1824 when his son Charles was born in June at Artillary Place, Woolwich. Where do I start? Any help would be welcome.

I am (also?) descended from Dan Astwood. I have done some research and my tree is posted on Ancestry.co.uk.
