I just saw a documentary on the Challenger disaster. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember being told in 1986 by a NASA employee that the cold at launch time worried a number of people. He also said that concern about this was overshadowed by the President (Regan). He wanted the launch to take place and no ifs ands or buts about it. Can anyone tell me if this was true or am I (the NASA employee) was wrong?
