Four of us from the states had costumes made to match ,17th century gentleman/women for entry to the carnival that has been held for hundreds of years. After the preliminary,all 4 of us were chosen for pre finals. Didnt win,but still fun.
I followed silvio's steps on his arrival in st Marks square, as he described in his book. I passed the Luna Hotel and the florian Hotel he mentions. Really beautiful!
I went up the Golden stairs and entered the Hall of Inquisitors where he received his sentence.
I couldnt locate his cell precisely as there was restoration being done to that area .
Visited the cells near or part of the I Pombi
The torture chambers across the bridge of sighs was closed (restoration),but I did go across it,peek out the little window toward the bay or "lake" as silvio calls it.
