I read recently that the 'Shipping Forecast' is the longest-running BBC radio programme that continues to be broadcast under its original title ('The Week's Good Cause', now the 'Radio 4 Appeal' started two days earlier on 24/1/1926 but has changed its title on the way). If this is true, then what did it broadcast during the war years - presumably there was still a need for this forecast, but I can't see that they would want the enemy to be able to use it too?
