Hi all, I am a 20 year old student from Singapore who is has chosen the topic of euthanasia and assisted suicide for a school module.

I personally am fascinated by this issue, and feel that the line between murder and 'assisted suicide' is thin and difficult to draw.

I find it impossible for any human being to decide if another should live or die. Who are we to judge and play God, especially when it concerns another life?

Perhaps the closest I can come to a 'rule', is if the person who is requesting for euthanasia, his/her state of life degrades with time and there is little possibility of improvement.
For example, a fatal terminal illness versus a non fatal paralysis.
Basically, the reason for the euthanasia might affect my decision.

But for now, I would have to say that I do not agree that euthanasia should be legalized, as I personally do not feel comfortable with the idea of a human being deciding the fate of another human being, whether or not it is with done with good intentions.

Legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide with cause a lot implications. The number of implications out numbers the advantages, therefore it is
understandable that euthanasia is not the way to go.

A quote from Pope John Paul II: Euthanasia is a grave violation of the law of God, since it is the deliberate and morally unacceptable killing of a human person

However, euthanasia should only be legalized base on individual cases. This is because it is easy for us to just say euthanasia is unethical, but who really
understand what the patient is suffering? We aren't the one with the illness lying on the bed therefore we have no right to control the patients freedom.
Moreover, animals who have no hope of recovery are put to sleep, and this shows that this can be applied to human. But based on the degree of seriousness.

Euthanasia has been on debate for many years and i believe it is ethical to legalize it. Humans these days value their life more than anything else so there won't be much of a implication for people who think that there will be an increase in death rate. What the world needs to do now, is to have doctors to be professionalize in physician assisted suicide.

And yes i agree with you! No one really knows what kind of sufferings one has to go through in order to stay alive, even when he or she knows that their future holds no light.

In the past, euthanasia may be unethical to be legalize, but I believe in this modern digital age, Euthanasia may be the way to go for the benefit of many people.
