AbusedByIndyMac
Where there's smoke, there's fire. Check out the two articles below. IndyMac executive were charges with fraud by the SEC--one settled withoug "admitting or denying" anything. Uh huh.
Don't worry though. They seemed to have left a culture in their wake. I tried working with them on my mortgage for a HAMP. They provide false and misleading information-for example saying UI qualifies as income for HAMP. It does not. They requie "live" paychecks instead of direct deposit statements from the employer if you have your paycheck directly deposited into your checking account. And the list goes on.
I had a forebearance agreement after I lost my job. It said if I made the agreed upon reduced payment, they would not report the account as late. They did. And now they are threatening foreclosure.
Maybe Congress and the SEC and the Office of Thrift Supervision should investigate them. I tried the OTS, but they were worse than useless. They asked IndyMac if they were doing anything wrong, and of course when they said 'no', they believed them. Incredible.
