Swine flu is normally not very deadly with a mortality rate of less than 10%. As usual, the media are blowing the situation out of proportion with scare tactics and hype.

On the contrary medical authorities are not yet sure how virulent this strain of swine flu is, and with the modern frequency of worldwide travel, a virulent strain of swine flu could quickly devastate the world's population at levels never seen before.
