I saw a show recently about scientists wanting to to use telescopes and probes to go and look far into the depths of space so they can see into the past when the universe was born ,and the big bang happened. When we see a star in the sky, there is a possibility that the star we are looking at may have died out millions of years ago and the light is just now arriving. So if a probe is sent far out to study the stars; when the probe or telescope looks at something light years away; aren't we looking into that stars future, since they are looking at something that we may not see for hundreds of years.I know it can't be done but; souldn't we be trying to catch the light as it goes by us, since that light is older the farther you go past it.
